Infantry Colonel of the Portuguese Army in the Reserves, qualified with the General Staff Course and the National Defense Course. Master in Strategy and PhD in International Relations from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Specialist in Security and Defense in Africa, particularly on Angola and the CPLP, with 10 edited works and more than 100 articles published in national and international journals in the field. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations of the Autonomous University of Lisbon (UAL).
