Mandarin and Portuguese are languages ​​with very different structures, which represents an added challenge for the numerous Mandarin speakers currently residing in Portugal, for whom sufficient knowledge of the Portuguese language and certification of that knowledge are requirements for obtaining permanent residency authorization, according to current legislation.

Considering that proof of Portuguese language proficiency can be provided through a certificate issued by a private Portuguese educational institution, this course represents an opportunity for learning and certifying Portuguese language skills.

The language classes will be complemented by sessions on the Portuguese legal system, which represents an added value for the participants.

• To assist, in the most appropriate way possible, Chinese residents in Portugal in carrying out essential citizenship tasks.
• To provide, in language classes, the most frequent and simple vocabulary, which allows, through oral and written comprehension, the pursuit of the most basic aspirations of acculturation to a vastly different social reality.
• Introduce the fundamental rights and duties of citizens into citizenship classes, particularly through the analysis of legally relevant everyday documents.
• To equip Portuguese language learners with simple tools, using language classes and implementing them in practical citizenship classes.
