Postgraduate Studies in Translation

Scientific Area

Social and Human Sciences

The working languages are English and Portuguese, but French, Italian, Spanish, and others may be used if the number of candidates justifies it.

In an era of globalization, where mediation between peoples and cultures emerges as essential and urgent, translation takes on new forms shaped by an unstoppable technological revolution.

In this context, and in its 24th edition, the Postgraduate Program in Translation acquires a new dimension, in the form of innovative concepts about the study and practice of translation based on concrete problems, case studies, electronic tools, that is, translation in its most practical and future-oriented perspective.

The course, which is markedly practical in nature, aims to provide all interested parties with the opportunity to obtain or deepen their knowledge in the field.

Our curriculum includes a practice of Wordfast translation tools, courtesy of Wordfast LLC and Yves Champollion.

We would like to thank Phrase for granting Autónoma Academy/Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa access to the Phrase Localization Platform. The Academic Plan is a dedicated academic program designed to enhance translation and localization education and support universities in training the next generation of language professionals.

Within the scope of postgraduate studies, external students are able to participate in one or more workshops.
