The course aims to respond to the obligations of the legal regime for the promotion and prevention of health and safety at work (Law No. 102/2009, of 10 September 2009), in accordance with the provisions of article 284 of the Labour Code, with regard to prevention.

The course is also intended to meet the requirements of the PSP Private Security Department, which requires adequate qualification in occupational health and safety for those who wish to teach the training unit “BAS06 – Occupational Health and Safety applied to SP”.
The course also allows you to qualify all private security professionals who, in their company, or providing services to a client, are involved, directly or indirectly, in training or prevention activities related to health and safety at work.

For the convenience and safety of students, classes will be taught in person but remotely.

It is intended that at the end of the course, students acquire knowledge and skills in the area of ​​occupational health and safety (OHS) that will allow them, in that context, to perform elementary, training and prevention functions, namely:

  • Know the legal framework of OHS and the resulting responsibilities;
  • Understand the basic concepts of OSH;
  • Recognize the importance of OSH;
  • Identify the main professional and specific risks;
  • Implement preventive measures for professional and specific risks.

The course is aimed at employers and workers of micro-enterprises that perform occupational health and safety functions, as established in article 6 of the annex to Decree-Law no. 109/2000, of 30 June, and whose sector of activity is not considered to be high risk.

Overall, the course is useful for anyone looking to learn about occupational health and safety, including private security professionals.
