Mandarin and Portuguese are languages ​​with very different structures, which represents an added challenge for the many Mandarin speakers currently residing in Portugal, for whom sufficient knowledge of the Portuguese language and certification of that knowledge are one of the requirements for granting a permanent residence permit, in accordance with current legislation.

Considering that proof of knowledge of the Portuguese language can be provided through a qualification certificate issued by a private Portuguese educational institution, this course represents an opportunity to learn and certify knowledge of the Portuguese language.

The language classes will be complemented by sessions on the Portuguese legal system, which represents an added value for the participants.

• To assist, in the most appropriate way, Chinese residents in Portugal to carry out essential citizenship tasks.
• Provide, in language classes, the most frequent and simple vocabulary, which allows, through oral and written comprehension, to follow through on the most basic aspirations of acculturation to a vastly different social reality.
• Introduce, in citizenship classes, the fundamental rights and duties of citizens, namely through the analysis of documents with legal relevance in everyday life.
• Provide Portuguese language learners with simple tools, using language classes, operationalizing them in practical citizenship classes.
