PhD in Documentation (University of Alcalá de Henares – UAH), Master in Information and Documentation Sciences (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities – Universidade Nova de Lisboa – FSCH-UNL), Master in Documentation (UAH) and Diploma of Advanced Studies of Doctorate in Bibliography and Retrospective Documentation in Humanities (UAH), Postgraduate in Information Society Law (Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon) and in Information and Documentation Sciences – Library Science and Archival Science (FCSH-UNL), Specialization in Good Practices in Asset Management and in Information and Documentation Sciences – Archival Science (FCSH-UNL), Degree in History (Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon). He is currently completing his Post-Doctorate in Architecture and Urbanism at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Brasília.
He currently works as a Senior Technician at the Lisbon Municipal Archives, and as a Guest Professor at the Autonomous University of Lisbon, where he coordinates the Postgraduate Course in Cultural and Educational Promotion and Dynamization in Archives and Libraries, and the Postgraduate Course in Architectural Archives, in addition to being a trainer at BAD – Portuguese Association of Librarians, Archivists, Information and Documentation Professionals, in Introduction to Architectural Archives.
He is an Integrated Researcher at CIDEHUS.UÉ – Interdisciplinary Center for History, Cultures and Societies at the University of Évora, where he coordinates the Research Group G2: Heritage(s) and Literacies.
He is also a Corresponding Academician of the Portuguese Academy of History and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Architectural Archives Section of the International Council on Archives.
He was a lecturer in the Master’s Degree in Information and Documentation Sciences at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences – Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a senior technician at the Portuguese Institute of Cultural Heritage, the Portuguese Institute of Architectural Heritage/Palácio Nacional de Queluz and the Institute of National Archives/Torre do Tombo, and a researcher at the Institute for Tropical Scientific Research – Center for Studies in History and Ancient Cartography.
He is the author of several books and nearly 100 articles published in national and international journals, and conference proceedings. He was a keynote and invited speaker at several international conferences (South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, China, South Korea, Egypt, Ecuador, Fiji, France, India, England, Portugal, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam).
