PhD in English Philology from the University of Salamanca, Spain, and a degree in Modern Languages ​​and Literature, English and German Studies from the Faculty of Arts of the Classical University of Lisbon, she also completed advanced training in Electronic Tools Applied to Translation, Text Revision (University of Tarragona, Spain) and Teaching English with Technology (the consultants-e in association with Trinity College, London, UK).

A professor at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL) since 1986, he has taught several curricular units in the Translation and Interpreting and Modern Languages ​​and Literatures degrees and is currently a professor in the Department of Communication Sciences.

Coordenadora da Pós-Graduação em Tradução desde 2006 e docente de Ferramentas Eletrónicas Aplicadas à Tradução, é também tradutora e revisora de texto técnico e científico.

Coordenadora do Gabinete de Relações Internacionais da Universidade, é também responsável pela tradução textos institucionais e científicos da UAL.
