More than 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship education, seeking to provide university students with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to encourage their entrepreneurial spirit. Has been the head of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Canarias´ research team since 2003, and part of the GEM-Spain team, which was awarded as the best national team in the world in 2012 by the GERA Board. Is leading the Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students’ Survey at ULPGC, and was the founder of the research team “Entrepreneurship, Digital Firms, and Innovation” (A+), which led for 6 years, currently still developing important research and leading transfer projects.
Her expertise is related to Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Management Control. In researching and is especially interested on the entrepreneurial tissue at a macro level and as part of local development. Has been involved in training projects for entrepreneurs, R&D, and business development for countries such as Cape Verde, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Brazil, Morocco, Mexico, Kazakhstan. I have held several academic positions at the University, in particular that of Vice-Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Lifelong Learning Education at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, as well as Vice-Rector of Entrepreneurship and Employment at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
